The Hare in the Moon

Hare in the Moon.png

New beginnings, celebrations arise

Dancing under moonlit skies

Nearing madness to catch fireflies,

Dreaming pumped by winters demise.

Chase the moon into the sun,

Where two together         another one.

Run, run, run

Run my friend

Out from the moon

There is no end.

Fortunes Falling

Green Falling Leaf.png

In the jungle of my mind, blossoms rise,

Seeds of ideas unfurl beneath hopeful skies.

Each bloom, a vision, vibrant and bright,

But vines of corruption tug at petals in the night.

Branches like thorns, they smash and sting.

Ideas decay as life’s challenges cling.

Withering flowers, toxic and frail,

shadow my thoughts, their colours pale.

A tear on my cheek seeks out the decay.

From waters of sorrow, something new finds it way.

From my withered thoughts, new hopes take flight.

In someone else’s dreams, they find their light.

Though my blooms may fade and drift,

A new dawn sees through the rift.

Caught in winds to carry along,

A new beginning, a sorrowful song.

Through the Jungle of Life

Elephants 2.png

You opened your eyes

for the very first time,

and there was my love,

strong and patient, timeless and kind.

You opened your eyes

for the very first time,

and there was my smile,

warm as the sun, steady and wide.

To walk by your side,

to be in your life,

to shield you from storms, from shadows and strife.

I’ll hold you up high,

I’ll be there all night

I’ll feel it an honour to help if you fight

Run through the wild,

dance in the rain,

roam in the jungle through joy and through pain.

And should you stumble,

whenever you call,

know that I’m here—your rock through it all.

The Silent King

White Throated Kingfisher_edited.jpg

Soaring high, clutched by the sky,
Kissed by the sun, nature's eye.
Missing the highs, missing the sky,
Missing the sun, nature sighs.

In whispered winds, he spreads his wing,
A flash of blue, the silent king.
With eyes that see but never tell,
He glides where waters softly swell.

Fierce and quick, yet full of grace,
A fleeting glimpse in nature’s face.
The trees bow low, the reeds give way,
Yet none dare ask him why he stays.

In crowded woods, where life’s a race,
He watches, moving without trace.
A gentle touch, a story stirred,
Yet speaks no sound, not one word heard.

With every beat, he shapes the air,
The world below, unaware.
He rules in silence, swift and free,
The king of all that’s yet to be.

Show
me
the Way

Dragonfly White Background.jpg

Show me the way on glittering wings.

A sign, a symbol        new beginnings.

My thorns grow sharp, my breath runs deep.

I am tired of the dark where shadows creep.

Dance for me, bring peace to my heart.

For eyes just pass me, lost in the dark.

These trials wear through wind, sun and rain.

But it’s time to take life back again.

To turn over the page, to shift the sand,

To let the weight slip from my hands.

Come now, dragonfly!

Take me, let’s swoon away to and from the moon.

I long to grasp that fleeting place.

That boundless space where anything goes.

I will dance to my own song.

From my rhythm, steady and strong.

the
wind of
change

Owl 1.jpg

Watching, waiting, on high ground,

for a tale of intrigue to be found

Patiently standing in the breeze,

as whispers weave between the leaves.

Soon the stillness swells to roar.

Its time to take this tale and soar.

Drifting down on whispered flight,

gliding through the breath of night.

Emerging from the moon’s safe grasp,

into the wild, swift and fast.

A time of change has come to pass,

between the glittering chimes of the past.

A vision so deeply wound

into the cracks icebound.

This tale emerging from the sky

Playing so peacefully, unbeknownst to eyes

Wandering, waking, wavering by

A tale so eager to let out its cry.

And so, it continues to swirl above ground

This tale of intrigue still to be found

A messenger passing on the breeze

For the wind to carry between gentle leaves.

Emergence

Hare and Two Moons.jpg

Eyes wide open.

Emerging from the cold.

I feel the breeze        a fleeting touch,

pulling me from the roots that held me for so long.

I can feel you there,

Guiding, watching,

making me aware.

There is hope in this chaos where I stand.

I am remembering.

Right now.

I am seeing and hearing,

though I do not know how.

Looking up with a gentle turn -

not all the way.

Blink back down.

So much to learn.

A vigorous trepidation.

I know I am strong, but my fear is growing.

I think I heard something on the breeze,

a tale being whispered amongst the leaves.

This imminent, sacred, gentle sound.

I’m on my way,

both to the sky and to the ground.

All
Fluffed
Up

Robin.png

Flapping and Preening,

Feathers in the snow,

Flowering snowdrops,

Fluffed up for the show.

Fortune is waiting,

Following near,

Finding me watching,

Fate feels so near.

Filling my days,

Forever you stay,

Fleeting yet present,

For love finds a way.

Songs
of the
Sky

Red Falling Leaf.png

And from the sky we fall,

Spinning, soaring, striking by.

And to the sky we rise,

Searching, seeking, seeing nigh.

A song unheard, engraved in time.

A stencil in the darkness thrived.

When dust hath settled.

When shadows lay bare.

When then the stairway is nearly there.

I will search for the path into the sky.

I will fall back down into your eyes.

I will be the song you can only see.

I will be the sound that sets you free.

My
Only
Wish

Dandelion.jpg

When darkness tries to swallow me up,

I hope for someone to pick me up.

To break the bonds and blow a kiss.

That freedom is my only wish.

A fragile stem in rugged hands,

A whispered breath from where I stand.

Torn between the storm and bliss,

That freedom is my only wish.

Two
for
Joy

Magpies.png

Two for joy, a job well done

A lovers kiss, a life in the sun.

Basking in a golden glow,

A pleasure felt, a fortunate note.

Strong and authoritative, feeling protected.

Pure perfection, feeling respected.

Magpies dance in misty light

The swirling ying to yang’s midnight.

Their presence strong, a watchful guard

In their aura we find regard

Mystery shrouds their every flight

In twilight whispers, they take delight

No Regrets

Wolves best for print.png

No regrets

I will do.

I will be here for you.

Regrets on my deathbed,

Are not for me.

I want to live and breathe.

Savor each moment of a howl in the breeze.

Bring on each triumph.

Bring on each fall.

We will dance on the cliffs and clash with each storm.

Pad your feet in the snow to chance an avalanche.

Feel it grow and tumble when crumbling dreams seem not to pass,

On frosty ground, press on and build.

You will be found.

Whatever fate may bring,

Paths of ice or glimmers of light.

Through shadowed, winding trails,

I’ll embrace your flight.

No, rather do and know

than not to try and not do,

never knowing,

never finding out why.

No regrets.

I will do.

I will be here for you.

I Am
Fierce

Hare 3.png

I am fierce.

I glide across the land, driven by the biting strands.

Rising dust about my feet

An itch I scratch so hard it bleeds.

And there, I continue not knowing how to stop.

The hair stands on end, stones dig at my heels to drop, tearing my skin.

The wind whips left over fragments, persuading me to change direction.

I lower my head and stare directly into the shards sharp in my eyes.

I do not blink

I am fierce.

I run; headfirst into the rising sun

The cold leaves as the sky battles to bleed the light,

Through the vessels of darkness I should have won.

I breathe through neutrality.

I do not choke on the air

But I take in the heat and run like a hare.

I am swift.

I am change.

I am wild, fierce, unafraid.
